Recognition of Prior Learning trial
Supporting skills recognition
Rural Skills Australia will continue its role in making skills recognition and training more accessible to regional and rural Australia.
We are inviting expressions of interest from up to 60 individual primary producers to take part in an ‘On-line Recognition of Prior Learning’ trial. The trial aims to ascertain the feasibility of making skills recognition more affordable and achievable in regional Australia.
Participants will be sourced through the National Farmers Federation and its member bodies, commodity councils and affiliates.
They will be guided through an on-line supported process, where the assessment of skills, knowledge and experience can lead to formal recognition of agricultural competencies. This will take the form of qualifications at Diploma or Certificate IV level. Each selected individual will be asked to contribute $200 towards the cost of the initiative.
The trial will be conducted in the first half of 2011 in NSW, Victoria, South Australia, Queensland and Western Australia.
Regional Skills Training Pty Ltd has been contracted to provide mentoring and assessor support.
Those who are interested should send their contact details to admin@ruralskills.com.au – including location and membership details (NFF or member body, Commodity Council or affiliate) – or call us on 1800 647 798.
