Recognition of Prior Learning
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Project Certificate 4 or Diploma – 60 participants
This RPL project is supported by the AgriFood Skills Australia/Rural Training Council of Australia Rural and Related Industry Sectors Training Fund.
The aim is to expand Rural Skills Australia’s on-line, web-based Certificate IV RPL platform to accommodate the recognition of diploma level units from the merged Agriculture, Horticulture and Conservation and Land Management Training Package (AHC10).
It is estimated that around nine higher-level units, when used in conjunction with the existing 31 Certificate IV units, could satisfy qualifications requirements across many agricultural sectors.
- Facilitate a trial across five states - NSW, Victoria, South Australia, Queensland and Western Australia - involving up to 12 participants per jurisdiction, incorporating appropriate RTO mentoring and assessor support and guidance.
- Sixty individual primary producers and/or farm managers sourced through the National Farmers’ Federation and its member state farm associations, commodity councils and affiliated bodies will be provided an opportunity to achieve Agricultural Certificate IV or Diploma qualifications by participating in a formal trial of the expanded web based skills recognition processes.
Goals and objectives
Demonstrate the feasibility of utilising technology and web-based platforms to deliver valid and cost-effective skills-recognition processes and gap training with appropriate mentor support and assistance at the Certificate IV and Diploma level across five Australian jurisdictions.
This will benefit primary producers and farm managers, regardless of their geographical location.
