The Great Southern Institute of Technology from Western Australia is the latest RTO to sign up to Rural Skills Online. 

Neil Binning, who is the program manager of the institute's environment and primary industries study area, said online learning strongly supported the institutes' existing delivery modes and strategic direction. Using Rural Skills Online would quickly gain popularity and momentum with students. 

"Introducing this additional mode of delivery, sets the scene for a particularly exciting 2012 academic year for both students and staff," Mr Binning said.  

The suite of packages would help meet the learning needs of industry-based trainees across rural Western Australia.

Rural Skills Australia's WA-based Education and Training Adviser, Fred Chambers, said it would give access to the institute’s full-time and part-time profile students, and provide for a mixed-mode delivery style to consolidate the students' large amount of hands-on work.
