NSW Traineeships & Apprenticeships

(at 1st December 2005)

Vocational Training Orders issued in relation to various declared callings and trades in NSW, provide new and revised traineeship and apprenticeship pathways, and appropriate qualifications from the endorsed Amenity Horticulture RTF03, Rural Production RTE03, Conservation and Land Management RDT02, and Animal Care and Managements Training Package RUV04.

Amenity Horticulture

Available Traineeship Qualifications under the varied Horticulture Order include: -

Certificate II, III and IV in Horticulture

Certificate II, III and IV in Horticulture (Arboriculture)

Certificate II, III and IV in Horticulture (Floriculture)

Certificate II in Horticulture (Landscape)

Certificate II in Horticulture (Retail Nursery)

Certificate II in Horticulture (Wholesale Nursery)

Certificate II in Horticulture (Parks and Gardens)

Certificate II in Horticulture (Turf)

Available Apprenticeship Qualifications under the declared trades of: - Parks and Gardening, Bowling Greenkeeping, Golf Greenkeeping, Greenkeeping, Landscaping and Nursery include: -

Certificate III in Horticulture (Parks and Gardens)

Certificate III in Horticulture (Turf)

Note Certificate II & IV Agriculture can include suggested pathways and specialisation in Beef production, Dairy production, Goat production, Grain production, Horse breeding, Milk harvesting, Pig production, Poultry production, Sheep and wool production and Sugar production.

Available Traineeship Qualifications under the new Animal Care and Management Order include: -

Certificate IV in Animal Control and Regulation RUV40104

Training shall be given for a nominal term of:

Qualification Nominal Term
Certificate II 12 months
Certificate III (trainee holds Certificate II in same qualification) 12 months
Certificate III (direct entry) 24 months
Certificate IV (trainee holds Certificate III in same qualification) 24 months
Certificate IV (direct entry) 36 months
