Skills Tasmania replaces the Office of Post-Compulsory Education and Training (OPCET) as being responsible for planning, purchasing and supporting the delivery of vocational education and training services.

Apprenticeships and Traineeships are now so similar that you will often hear them referred under the name – Australian Apprenticeships.  It is a mixture of normal work and organised training, leading to a nationally recognised qualification.

Skills Tasmania has signed off on the new qualifications that have been approved as apprenticeships or traineeships, which may be undertaken under a training agreement in Tasmania from the following endorsed National Training Packages:
