David began his career as a high school agriculture teacher in Gippsland, Victoria. After 37 years he moved into OH&S and finally to the hospitality industry, as a hotel owner in Tasmania. He was an Australian Volunteer in East Timor for three years before returning in 2010 to take up the Education and Training Officer role in the Northern Territory.
David has considerable experience in vocational education and training. He has served on the boards of the Meat Industry Training Council (MINTRAC) and National Food Industry Training Council (NFIT), and also with the NSW Board of Secondary School Studies.
