Financial aspects of farm management

This website focuses on managing your farm enterprise out of crisis circumstances. There is of course significant overlap between general farm business financial management, and dealing with crisis circumstances. This Chapter covers the key financial elements of farm business management.

The following section is adapted from the NSW Agriculture Agnote "Financial management during drought recovery". It covers important financial aspects of farm management that are relevant at any time, but even more so during crisis circumstances.

The section following this covers risk management and the various means by which you can reduce your exposure to risk.

It is important to realise that there are many strategies that you can take to avoid or minimise the impact of crisis circumstances. Risk management is your own responsibility and government support should be seen only as a last resort when all else has failed.
