FARM INDUCTION - GETTING OFF TO A GOOD START
New employees have a lot to learn. Induction is the process of getting your new employee off to a good start. Good inductions make good business sense. Good induction leads to a more settled employee, more effective response to training, good work place relationships, lower labour turnover, and improved safety records.
This module outlines the steps you can take to conduct an effective induction of general farm workers. On smaller farms some of these issues will be easy to cover informally. On larger farms a more structured approach will be needed to ensure important issues are not forgotten.
